RE-read the first dozen posting on Jim's forum and then return to some of his last the same characters that he was having problems with were returning after a short jail term . kind of strange.
ken

Ya Ken, just thinking. . .he had his problems with "the characters".

To All of Crash 325's (Jim Johnson) fellow posters: Thank you so much for all your condolences. He and I led very different adult lives and also most of our childhood years were spent apart (divorced parents and they split us up) so I loved reading his postings. I had encouraged him to write all his things about our granddad and his own wanderings. Don't know if he did anything more than the Tractor by Net postings as he didn't confide a lot with me and our sister so have no passwords to try to get into any email accounts or word documents he may have had. Everything was lost in the fire - just a heap of ashes left with of course metal stuff that doesn't burn. You all know the jail doors revolve for all the local petty criminals. My daughter and I had the same question "Did someone kill him and set fire to cover crime?" Apparently there was enough left of his body for the coroner to rule out foul play since my sister brought it to his attention that there had been thieving going on.

Several of you mentioned getting books from him. What kind were they?

Take care all of you and thanks again for enjoying my brother's posts and your condolences. Wanda

Hi Wanda, a while back Jim was selling some books and maybe other stuff on ebay. He mentioned it here and I bought a couple of old books on aircraft. One in particular is called 'The Observer's Book of Aircraft'. It is a pocket sized hardback and the cover is in great condition. Dated 1959. Nostalgic for me and remembering my dad.

I know he really enjoyed RC (remote control) aircraft and it appeared he was very into the hobby at least 40 years ago. I always wanted to chat with him about it but never got a chance.

I sure will miss Crash's stories and the way he told them. I know he had a lot of friends here on TBN because he was just a good old 'real' guy.

Now this type also likes to set fires so be careful.

I know this post was years ago, but maybe worth looking into. Just sayin'.

I did a quick search and found no mention of anyone perishing in a house fire in or around Tucson on May 11, 2018. Could have missed it. Interesting that his TBN profile shows he last posted on May 11th.

I’d just like to know that if anything nefarious was going on that the cops were seriously looking into it.

Maybe it was just an accident. I hope that is correct.

I was surprised I could not find any news mention of the fire and his death, nor an obituary. Wonder why?

Given his neighbors it sure seems like that angle should be investigated, doesn't it?
