How's the project doing ?

Getting there! It is only a 10x12 shed but still a lot of work for one person. Not the only project underway either.
Photo1, walls going up.
Photo2 and 3, nailing off sheathing and clearing away tree branches, using a FEL work platform made from IBC Tote.
Photo4, showing door openings.
Photo5, joists and rafters up.
Photo6, ready to put on roof, fascia and soffit. The scaffold will have to be moved to each side in turn.
Photo7, showing where generator will sit.

On the left will be vents with hot radiator air ducted outside. On the right will be vents for fresh air. They are about 2.5x the area of the radiator, should be adequate. I am also putting in plenty of soffit and roof vents for more ventilation.

Photo4 shows the door openings. A standard 3 ft exterior door on the left for going in and out. And a 4 ft door for getting the generator inside the shed and then for delivering fuel in a tank on a pallet. Have not decided yet whether I will get a steel roll up door (about $300) or just make it myself.

I have been puzzling how best to run the exhaust pipe through the wall. Maybe use a wood fireplace thimble. I have not found anything purpose built for generator exhaust.

Also took advantage of the dry weather to move the generator from my garage in Sacramento 200 mi to the coast. My wife gets her parking place back which is a good thing.

For thimbles check these outfits.

Why not buy a level 2 sound enclosure made with aluminum and stainless that is already mouse proofed on 60 gallon tank. You can stand next to this one and talk, as quiet as the large Honda inverter. You could sleep 20 feet from it

That is 36kva 30 continuous rated with a Perkins engine. and dedicated single phase 240/120 machine with digital voltage regulator, by Mecc-Alte. With Deep Sea controller about $12,600 delivered.

You can buy enclosures for $1200 to $1600, they mount on the tank along with the genset, you also buy the tanks in 60 gallon and up. So easiest would be to buy the tank and cabinet.
