backhoe valve repair

The valve boom/dipper stick on my bh1575 landpride backhoe attachment does not return when released. Is this a valve problem or spring or something else? Land pride no longer makes a backhoe and are no help.

Majority of directional valves have the centering springs located under a cap or cover on the end opposite of where the linkage connects. Can you post a couple of pictures of your valve assembly?

Yep, like oldnso said. Pull the cap, clean polish etc. Probably some crap in there.

Also you could remove the push/pull linkage and slide out the valve barrel and again clean polish.
The tiniest bit of grit might be what is the cause.
Don't sand or grind, simply polish as this is a close machined fit.
