"Have you forgot about them an operated the outriggers?"

No, I have not, but that's not because I have a great memory, but because I utilize checklists.

I finished my stabilizer locks today, I center drilled and tapped the lower piston pin and drilled and tapped the outrigger leg. I used 1/2 inch stainless steel bolts which I machined the heads to minimize it from sticking out.
It's spring loaded to stay in place either in use or not.
I know it looks like a lot of work but I can't use the tractor outside right now so I'll play with it inside. I did try to put the outriggers down and they just stopped against the locks so if I forget the locks not much will happen.

Very nice craftsmanship! ....and you performed the acid test, too.

Impressive indeed... Ficord, have you ever considered offering your engineering skills to Kubota?

That sure makes mine look a bit sad! I just use chains with a hook on the end. Its not as pretty as your setup, but its quick and reliable.

Regarding the boom, I personally don't like the idea of using a lock plate to hold it up. The lugs are there, but I think it puts way too much stress on the metal when I'm bouncing around the yard. At least the hydraulics have a little bit of 'give' to take the shock out of the jarring. Sure the boom leaks slowly down but I just lift it up occassionally. A burst hose is possible but I havent had one yet, and it would be cheaper to fix than a cracked boom. (You can see the backhoe has already experienced that!). But I'm planning to add a strong webbing strap somewhere between the boom and the control area.
