Got to love plasma tables. My problem is im not using mine much any more due to cost of steel. People arn’t doing projects like they used to.

I was floored at the cost of a 4’x8’ sheet of 12g last month. Was 2.5x the cost from the previous year.

I have never figured out why all backhoe buckets don't come with a shackle on the back.
I still need to add them to my 2 buckets, haven't decided if I want to to shackle mounts or a weld on sling hook.

I've been mostly using leftover and drop materials lately. Need to order a sheet of 1/4" po to have on hand, can't wait to see the price of that.

I used to build and repair old car bodies. Hence my moniker. Metal has been climbing is price since way back. I remember it being stable for only very short periods. I guess that's why "people" are getting paid more now too. It's a cycle I retired from but still can't afford my own work. :ROFLMAO:

I've been working on getting everything ready for paint, finished the grease fitting protection.

Then, I had the idea to put a shackle mount on the back of the ripper, figured it could come in handy for lifting or pulling. View attachment 3828898
Very nice well thought out and executed work. Have you considered how to remount the root ripper? Smokeydog and I both encountered the same problem when remounting a root ripper using our QA equipped M59s. The ripper wants to roll to one side so Smokeydog added ears to keep ripper from rolling. It lays flat, I don't have a qa so if I lay it face down I can line up pivot pin.

I have thought about making a stand for it.

I was a shop forman a couple years ago for a welding/fabrication shop, we would get truck loads of metals regularly. You think carbon steel is expensive, try having to source US made stainless. That gets expensive fast!

We had a job processing 42"x102" 2.5" thick plates, they would come pre cut and would order qty 16+ at a time. Each plate was 3070lbs.

Steel came down a little while I was working there, even got below $1 lb for your average plate (1/4-3/4"). Haven't priced it in about a year.
