Had this project on the list since I got the backhoe a few years ago, finally got around to actually making it.

I had been playing with the design off and on for a while, but I'm planning on putting up a new shop soon and will have to do some clearing so would rather rip roots then dig holes.

So far I cut out the ripper shank pieces, I'm using some drop Hardox 450 I had laying around. The thickest hardox I had was 1/4" so I made it 3 pieces laminated.

I also had have a lot of bucket teeth and some mounts that I bought from a dealer that went out of business, so I figured I'd add a replaceable tooth for the tip.

As you can see, I added a sawtooth design to the center piece to help rip/cut roots.View attachment 3712666

Looks good. What backhoe will this be used on? What’s the purpose of the circles cut out?

It's a Kubota M4711, which is a rebranded Bradco 611.

The holes are to allow me to weld the 2 outer layers to the middle layer besides just the perimeter weld. They are probably a little bigger than they need to be, but it won't hurt anything.

Was able to get all the mounting parts cut out, all 1/2" except for the spacers for the bushings which is 3/4". Not shown is the peice of round bar for the front pivot bushings. Bradco doesn't make it easy to make buckets/attachments for these hoes!

Next up is machining all the holes and the round bar for the bushings.

For someone with all that fancy dan equipment (your plasma looks like my Shop Saber), I'd think your spelling would be better. It's LAMINATED, not lamented.

Hopefully your finish work don't reflect your spelling quality.... I don't understand using Hardox material for something that really isn't subject to a lot of sliding under pressure wear unless is scrap.

Thanks for the heads up, I corrected it. My phone kept insisting on changing laminated to lamented for some reason. Thought I corrected it but guess my phone still snuck it in.

I don't know what "fancy dan equipment" is, but is not a Shop Sabre ("Sabre" is the correct spelling by the way, not Saber).

It's a table i built myself using a Precision Plasma LLc gantry kit.

And yes, the Hardox was drops from relining trash trucks, so no cost. The reason for hardox is its stronger and more abrasive resistant, which is a good thing when you are running it through the dirt.

My table right after I built it back in 2018.
