KIOTI NX5510 Cab HST with Backhoe
I have a 2 yr old KB2485 that has only been used a couple of times with a Thumb, sticker was around 10.5k, it came with my tractor when I bought it. It's been barn kept but I just don't use it and need to upgrade my old corn planter so after speaking it over with the wife she agreed in order to buy a newer planter something needed to go. Is there a market for a used a backhoe and if so what would be a good asking pricing for it ? It has a 12" and 18" bucket. we will be building in 4 years and I can see me using it in 4 years for some projects but have no immediate plans the one project I needed it for I completed. It is just taking up space in the pole barn so I look at it like this if I can get a decent value out of it and someone can use it then I could buy another piece of equipment. Any thoughts?

Basically, whatever someone is willing to pay and how bad they want / need it. I would say start at around 75% of new or about $7500. Prices can really vary depending on area / location. Good luck selling! If there are any local Kioti dealers that have bulletin boards, you might try posting pictures and a price w/ 'best offer'. Some dealers would allow it, some won't because it could hurt their sale.

I would think twice about selling the BH if you need it in 3-4 years even at $7-8K net from the sale you will not be able to replace it for less than $10-12K given the way steel and prices go up to buy it again in 4 years.

So it would be better to buy a new/used planter and keeping the BH- are you looking for like a 4 row, no till model and how many acres of corn are you planting? If around 10-15 acres and not a no till planter, a used two row will take a bit more time and around $1-2K today - go to farm auctions etc. and you may get a decent one for low $.

My KB 2485 was a 6500.00 ad on, new with my tractor, I don't remember what the mechanical thumb was..300/500.
They are a lot cheaper to buy new with the tractor...hope you did not pay 10500 new with your tractor:shocked:
I would hang on to it...finance the planter another way

a good 4-6 row planter is around 4-5K used, No I didn't pay 10K for the BH I was just saying what the sticker price was, I bought the entire package used after 1 year. I would probably rent a small excavator for 200$ a day verses using the BH, the excavator is faster and more efficient for a project. The BH is a lot of fun but a big D5 and a Highlift just finished most of our clearing projects for the foreseeable future. thanks for the input
