Backhoe L4600

You are correct I finally saw the light and got a Kubota. Only have one 8n left and it has the Sherman and duals. In my opinion that backhoe would work on your tractor as far as size however you would have to get a different subframe from woods. I bought a woods 7500 for my L3700. Now I have to get a subframe kit.

Also check into Hydraulic connections. The Kubota BH may come with the parts while the aftermarket unit may cause you to pay another thousand for remotes. Even better if the aftermarket Hoe uses the PTO to power its own backhoe.

As an owner of BH92 you certainly aren't going to be happy with any less power.... at any price...

Hey Hobo

Get out the calculator to find the ratio of the differences in specs and then
apply that to the prices.
To find out the real difference in price.

Will that backhoe subframe match up to the Kubota loader frame OK?

If you remember my posts on the other board, I did a lot of the same soul-searching when I was considering a backhoe for my old Kubota.
Couple things I found.
Hidden costs sometimes brings the difference closer.
That company may be fine, but I stopped in a local shop once when they were putting a new offbrand backhoe on a newer JD.
I can't remember the brand, but it was junk....$5k junk.
You know your stuff. Machinery is machinery. Check it carefully before you decide.

as you know, I decided on the Kubota BH77 for my B, and decided to attach it to a new tractor at the same time. LOL.
Front to rear......for the next couple of years...any problem anywhere is THEIR problem.
I trust my local dealer, but if I break it in two, I don't trust the suit and ties at corporate that would be looking for somebody/anything to blame.
All Kubota....All their problem
good luck

For what its worth, I agree with Wayne 64SS above. I have the BH92 on a MX5100 which I believe is in a similar size range with your L4600. I would not be happy with any less capability, based on my own use (trenching, removing rock).

Add in another happy BH92 owner, it has done everything I've asked of it so far but like the others have said I wouldn't want less power.

I've had a six foot BH and a nine footer. While there is little down which is more capable, I would still point out that if the budget is limited that a small BH is WAY more useful than no BH. It takes longer to dig out a stump but even a BX25 can dig out big stumps. Most trenches and digging projects don't require full nine foot depth so the extra reach of bigger BHs is an efficiency benefit but not absolutely necessary feature.

I have an 11 foot Kub (Bradco) backhoe - big as CUT hoes go, but it is still not big enough to dig out 18" white pine stumps easily. Best tool for it is a commercial TLB with size and grunt enough to reach behind the stump, breaking off the roots underground. It's fast, and what rolls out is a reasonable size for burying.
