Anyone have any advice on which is the better backhoe for the b3030, the Kubota the Kubota BH75 or the Woods BH80x? After doing a search on here, I saw a lot of complaints about the BH75, but none about the woods.

I'll be doing a lot of stump removal. Ground is sand with a lot of rocks.

Thanks!

Woods, even your Kubota dealer will tell you that, its also short money for the thumb and it is only offerd by woods. I just realized were you are, you'll be dealing with North East power equipment anyway. those guys will set you up with the best stuff for the money you want to spend. Tell them exactly what your gona do with it

Do a search about the Kubota BH75 and read the horror stories about them bending various parts. I would avoid that particular model and go with woods.

Do you already own this B3030? If not, and you're preparing to buy, just be aware that the B3030 cab model is not available with a 'Bota BH, BUT there's a Woods BH (don't know if its same model) that will fit the cab model.

I have the Woods 80xt on my ck30, its a very capable hoe, it will snap branches up to 4 inches thick with the thumb.. Its smooth and strong.. Im not sure if it may be a bit heavy for the B3030 though.. Good luck

Go with the Woods and the thumb, not a whole lot more in the big picture of your tractor package but a thumb will be so useful.

Thanks all - I've definitely decided on the woods.

Timber - I assume you meant Norfolk Power in Wrentham? Nice folks, but I haven't been totally impressed with their tractor knowledge... I feel I've learned a lot more on here!

LOL yes thats who I meant, It depends on who you talk too. I was very pleased with my dealings with them but they are dealers, hear you are dealing with people that actually use this equipment. These are the people that dig in the ground. Dealers just put the stuff together for you. The thing I like about Norfork power is they have no problem telling you that there is better attachments then Kubota.

As the ancient knight of the Holy Grail says to Indy in The Last Crusade, "You have chosen...wisely." ;) Make sure to get the factory thumb! Best $350 option you'll ever spring for. For greater digging power, more/beefier bucket choices, curved boom, better seat, cleaner track record (so far), and twice the warranty, for roughly the same dollar amount, you just can't beat the BH80-X. Swing speed control is nice too.

Rocks and Stumps Fear Me. :)
