Has anyone ever put a backhoe on a Yanmar? I have a YM1802 that I would like to get a backhoe for and am wondering if any company makes one that would fit my tractor and how major a job it would be to install.

Tally

I saw a 1610 with a very SMALL backhoe many years ago, he ran it from a PTO pump and it had a 12" bucket.
Really, all it was good for was scratching the ground unless it was soft, then it would dig in, cause the tractor didn't weight enough.

A friend helped me install my septic system to my shack with his little Kubota and it wasn't nearly as big as my Yanmar 1802. I was amazed at all the jobs he was able to do with this little Kubota.

But the way things go, I could probably buy a used tractor with a backhoe cheaper than getting a new backhoe for one of my tractors.

My first backhoe was on a YM1802. It worked fine. I have since moved on to a mini trackhoe. For a home setup, it would be a worth while project. I don't remember it being a big job to take off and on. You put the pump on the pto and then you can run the hoe to get it mounted.

Tally, the soil in the picture looks soft and the grass is still green.
That tells me that digging was easy:D

For small projects... heck go for it!
A small Koyker backhoe with a pump will work.

Remember, a new bell housing is mucho money, I already sold the 2 extras we had here, both went to backhoe users.:D

OK, that scared me.

The main reason I wanted to add a backhoe was because I have had my 1802 for years and I know it is a good tractor that will last me the rest of my life. I hate to sell it and possibly buy a pile of junk dedicated backhoe to replace it.

When my large tractor wore out, I spent many hours and many dollars trying to find a good used tractor to replace it and after losing money buying junkers, I finally had to buy a new Kubota. I don't need a backhoe enough to buy a new one.
