Up in the air over this one. Don't need the Mid PTO and I could use the extra weight of the L2800. Would also consider a B7610 What is the average price difference between the 3?

Options

Loader
Foldable ROPS
Rear Work lights
Brush mower
rear snowblower

(Massachusettts) Local dealer quoted me $20.2 for the 7800. Wanted to look at the L2800 and the B7610 but he seemed kind of rushed and didn't offer me a test drive. Didn't give me a warm feeling all over. Might look a bit furthur outside the local area but would like an idea of what would be a good price for the 3 machines.

For the tractor, was it Gear or Hydrostatic? What type of tires? ...and the other "options" that you list, what brand names were you given for each? All Kubota? Some uses Woods FEL, so it depends. Let us have more information and we'll see what comes of it.

Hydro for the shift and R-4 tires. he didn't mention the brands of the implements but the mower wasn't a Kubota (it was a tan color) Never saw the snowblower. Wasn't a very informative visit. Hoping my next trip to a different Kubota dealer will go a bit better.

i would call the dealer back and ask for a different salesman, especially if it's closer. who knows what was going on that day but the guy didn't seem to be able to handle a potential sale. every one is a bit different. the l2800 is quite a bit bigger than the 7800. i test drove both and felt the 2800 (actually got the 3400 but it's the same size frame as 2800) was a better fit for what i needed which was basically more ground clearance and a bigger FEL bucket. the 7800 will definately fit into tighter places and there are many owners on the boards that will vouch for their strength. i really like my 3400 and it's been able to do everything i ask of it. my 3400 was $16,200 (with kubota FEL).

In Maine, the geared L2800 is advertised at 14,990 and the hydro B7800 generally runs 1,000 higher.

Personally unless you have to do finish mowing I don't really see the advantage of a B7800 over a L2800. The larger weight and frame would be preferable IMHO of the L.

The L2800 and L3400 have been extremely well selling tractors. The jerky 3pt hitch valve was a well known issue that has been fixed with an upgraded valve in production and the vast majority of existing owners (including me) have had their valve upgraded under warranty.

Not sure what the link to the cracked rear end is about but best I can tell that appears to have been casued by a 3PT backhoe. If I was getting a backhoe I'd definately look at a sub-frame - I don't think this is specific to the L2800. JMHO.

Definatley do your research on the machines you are interested in. Get as much seat time as possible. Search for existing posts on TBN and make your own informed decision on which is the right tractor for you.

Above all remember that a great dealer is incredibly important.

Thanks--I'll definitely give the dealer itself another chance--hopefully taking a test drive at both dealers

Any thoughts on what Prices I should see in Mass. for the 7800 7610 and 2800?

The salesman was using VERY round numbers as "ballpark" but they seemed to remain when he gave me the final price. As I remember he said "Sixteen" for the 7800 with the loader. looking around online that seems to be closser to the "never exceed" price than the "good deal" price. Bottom line was $20.2 for the loader, rear snowblower, rear lights, and mower. How would the L2800 compare to that?

And if money gets too tight, would the 7610 have enough power to power a rear snowblower and do some loader work in the summer?

Not looking for all the answers here, just want to have enough knowledge to evaluate what I'm being told on the lot.

thanks

When I was in the market, I thought the 7800 was what I wanted. After demoing with a Woods 6' finish mower, I opted for the L2800 simply for the additional weight. Without the loader on, the 7800 was very light in the front when lifting the mower. Other than that I had no complaints with the 7800.

After having the valve changed for the 3-point, I have been very happy with the 2800.
