Check the Kubota web site B7800 competitive comparisom, It says position control standard. Must be a typo.

The B7800 that I bought 6 years ago dropped 3ph by pushing lever down to first stop and it would drop a bit and if you kept pushing it again and again and again it would drop a bit each time. I think it was called 1/4 inching valving. If you pushed lever past detent the 3ph slowly dropped till you stopped pushing lever or 3ph reached bottom. My B3200 drops till you let go of lever. I thought it was wrong because it doesn't operate like the B7800 and I went to Barlows and checked another new B3200 and it does like mine. Drops till you let go. No stopping when you hit detent.

The b7800 has a 1/4 inching valve, very different from position control.

If your B3200 has the quarter inching valve, you probably have to pull the lever in towards the seat when moving it up or down to hit the quarter inching stops. That's how the BX works and I would assume the same for the B series. I think all Kubotas that don't have PC have the quarter inching valve, though I don't know for sure. Check it out.

My B2620 doesn't seem to understand the quarter inching either. I haven't given up on finding the right combination, but it sure is touchy. I don't care for it too much yet when box blading, etc. If you hold the lever in, and are very careful, you can somewhat control where the hitch stops, but otherwise it just jumps six inches........ I'm probably doing something wrong, but I thought I understood it pretty well. If I ever have a different tractor, it will have true position control.

I had to adjust the stops on my BX to get it to move correctly. I assume your B has adjustable stops also. The stops can be moved in or out to increase or reduce the travel of the hitch control in the quarter inching position. One of mine was too close to center and the hitch didn't move at all until I loosened the stop and slid it further towards the fully extended position. Sounds like yours are too far out. Take a look under the fender and see if you can adjust the stops. Might fix your issue.

All that said, I rarely use the quarter inching feature on my BX. Never had position control and I forget all about the quarter inching feature most of the time. Only reason I found it and adjusted it was my NEED to play with all the functions when it was new. :D

you need to have the 3pt flow restriction knob set right for the quater inching valve to function smoothly. Just crank the knob in until the implement drops slowly when pushing the lever forward.

Thanks for the tips guys. I have tried adjusting the flow control knob, and that does help a bit, but I haven't adjusted the stops underneath. I have used the limit stop, and don't know why I haven't tried the stop on the spring side.
