Kubota B7800
I have about 20 hours on my 7800. I am looking ahead to the fifty hour service. Is this a DIY job, or should I send it back to the dealer? I have changed fluids on other tractors in the past, nothing with a hydrostatic transmission.

Nothing really different about the hydrostatic and the ones you've done in the past. Just need a big drain pan to catch lots of hydraulic fluid, and check the owner's manual to make sure you pull all the drain plugs. I'm not sure how many the B7800 has, but my B2710 had four for the hydraulic fluid and two for the engine oil.

I am coming up on mine, also. Would you not risk voiding the warranty?

If you use proper oil and filters. There should be no problem with warranty.
Hardest part I found was getting rid of the used oil. Took it back to dealer and dumped it in to his old oil tank.

Very easy to change and a lot less trouble than taking to dealer. If you're comfortable changing oil in other tractors or cars, it will be easy. When i did mine i bought supplys from Dealer so less chance warranty problem. Engine oil not as big a deal to use non Kubota engine oil, but if going to Dealer for transmistions fuild, i just got engine there too. My B3030 had two transmition filters , so make sure you ask for engine oil filter and all transmition filters. Mine went back to dealer for pistion failure at 60 hrs, transmition fuild all over the place, and they told me no problem i did the 50hr maintance and honored the warranty. I'm in Pgh too so sure you know you can take the oil and transmittion fluild to any oil change or autoparts place for free to recylce.

I've done the 200 and 250 hour services on my L3000, which I purchased used this past Spring. I didn't have any major troubles accomplishing either of those and I'm very much NOT mechanically inclined. The Kubota manual is very helpful. The only thing I had trouble with was getting the new oil in. Part of the FEL frame made it very tricky and I had to go out and get a long nosed funnel. Other than that, easy as pie, and rather enjoyable!
