I always use only Group IV oils in all my heavy duty hardware, gasoline or diesel, in fact it make it real easy since I use the same Amsoil 10W-40 in everything from lawn mowers to turbodiesels.

Just in this thread or whenever Amsoil is mentioned?

People use what works for them. That doesn't make them Amsoil, Delvac or Wallyworld oil 'lovers'. Most people do not treat oil as a religion that needs to be irrationally refuted wherever it's mentioned. Nor do they see the need to act as its evangelists. There are facts about oil that can be discussed. The emotions should be left at the door.

BTW, no one asked you to use Amsoil nor asked you to recommend it.

Not at all..especially when I stated a long time ago that I wasnt about to use it. The ONLY emotions that ever crop up in ANY oil discussion is the attitudes of Amsoil users; sellers and "die hards".

If you and others will look back..one poster asked ME...ME personally about MY..yes..again.MY use of synthetics. He didnt ask the BB posting world in general. I..PERSONALLY..am NOT a big fan of SYN oils..and dont use them..And IF I could find a readily available 10W-30 Dino oil that met the Kubota specs...I'D BUY IT!. But since I cant..THATS why..IN THIS CASE..I decided to use a syn oil.

As far as your flippent comment about "just this thread or whenevr..ec..etc" I'll let you just sit and stew over that!

I don't 'stew' over anything. Sorry to disappoint you.

BTW, I missed the part where someone asked you specifically. They posted a question in a forum, they didn't send you a PM nor did any one ask for an Amsoil rant, pro or con. Rants, of any kind and about any subject, tend to cause problems. As I said, leave the emotions at the door and stick to the facts.

"Be friendly, courteous and respectful of other members, as well as the entire TBN community".

Reprinted above is rule #8.

There should be a rule #9: No discussion of synthetic vs dino, Christian vs Jew, liberal vs conservative, Catholic vs protestant, there are others.

I have been a member of several groups, including a BMW motorcycle group, and EVERY SINGLE TIME sythetic vs dino comes up, the discussion degenerates into a fracas. Snide, backhanded, self rightious, mean spirtited "comments" that eventually get the moderator involved, with the inevitable hurt feelings.

Every thing that has needed to be said on dino vs synth oil has been said on other forums. Does it need to be all resaid again on this forum?

Oops forgot part of rule #5, "This means no "brand wars".

Sully2,

You say you are going to use synthetic Rotella T 5w40 in your B3030 but, then you say you don't use synthetics in anything else. Is it just a price issue or some other reason? Just curious. </font>]

Sure had me fooled. It certainly looked like a direct question to me??

Thanks for pointing out the specfic post. However, you missed the important part of my message

...nor did any one ask for an Amsoil rant, pro or con. Rants, of any kind and about any subject, tend to cause problems. As I said, leave the emotions at the door and stick to the facts.

Even when asked specifically, the rule against rants applies.

I have a lot to say about what I have just witnessed here. When and if I say it, it will be free of attack, judgement or hostility, and will be said in a spirit of love, understanding and forgiveness, with the goal of promoting peace, mutual respect, individual and communal growth, and the advancement of knowledge.

Guys,
Have been away from the computer for a few days with my dad in the hospital and traveling to a job site for work in PA.
Thanks for the replys and I didn't intend to spark a debate but I guess these things happen. My dealer didn't have the Kubota 10/30 oil and I have had no luck in finding a diesel rated oil in that weight stocked in my area at the local wal-mart, autozone and TSC but I will continue looking when I return home at the end of next week but until then any more feed back on what you use in your Kubotas and where you found it will be extremely helpful.
Regards,
John
