B7500 Backblade

I plan on getting a 72 inch backblade for a B7500 for snow removal when the snowfalls are minimal. The thinking is that I would want the angled blade to be wider than the tractor tires. I would use the backblade for other purposes. Does this sound like a good way to go?

I bought the 60 inch blade. Dealer recommended this over a larger one for the b7500 tractor. Carver also recommended against a larger blade.

For a 7500 a 60 " blade is wide enough to angle and still clear the tires. I would be leary of a 72" pushing you instead of the other way around...

From experience, I'll agree with the other posters for the most part. I have a 7500 with the 72" blade. When snow is light and fluffy you can easily move 12" - 18", however when it is heavy and wet I end up using the FEL and only use the blade for cleanup. The problem is not with engine power, but with tractor weight and losing traction. I'd get the 60" blade if I were to do it again.

Contrary to the other responders -- I have a 72" back blade that I use with my B5200. I have found that it works extremely well. Note that I do the majority of snow moving going forward and driving over the snow. As has been said before -- plow with the snow (don't let it get ahead of you)...
