The exhaust valve on number 2 cylinder broke and is now part of the piston.
I have had this tractor for about 2 years and only use it for mowing. It is a B7100 HST - D with a D750 - AH engine. It is the newer style HST and I believe it was made in the mid 80s. I am not sure how many hours are on it. The tractor ran great until the valve broke.
I have purchased a zero turn lawn mower and would like to get my B7100 to run in order to sell it.
At a minimum I will need to replace the piston and re-work the head. The machine shop wants $300 to just inspect the head.
What is the best way forward?
It does not look like I can get the pan off without separating the engine from the transmission. Does anyone have experience with this?
Anybody had any experience going through a B7100 engine?
How hard is it to find a used engine that would fit my tractor?
Any help would be appreciated.
