B7100 HST 4x4 hst running backwards

Just bought an older b7100. I mash the forward pedal and tractor drives in reverse. I mash the reverse pedal and the tractor goes forward. Please help

Let me add that the tractor will barly move when it does move and there is a grinding noise coming from the hydraulic motor area

I don't really know but the reversal of the pedal direction is hopefully just a linkage problem rather than anything inside the tranny. Grinding noise sounds ominous but hydro's can sound pretty painful at the best of times. It could have a blocked screen and being starved of tranny oil. That would explain the lack of power too. The screen is part 014 in the pdf. Its essential you check and clean it before anything else.

Is it possible that the engine is running backwards? Check the battery terminals and see if the negative and positive are reversed. I do not know if this is even possible on this engine.
