B6200 - Doesn't Shut Off with key

Just picked up an older B6200 with FEL, mower, and aerator. Needs paint, but low hours, and it runs well.

The guy dropped it off for me yesterday, a great guy, and when I went to tool around the yard a bit after he left, I couldn't get it to shut down with the key. I had to pull the throttle back by hand to stall it and kill it that way.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a secret to shutting it down, or do I need to look at the wiring? Didn't want to get into it if it was something simple.

Don't worry about the key. After it's running take it out and put it in your pocket.

Pulling back on the throttle is the correct way to stop it!:thumbsup:

If you are talking about the red knob on the lower right of the dash that you pulled on. It's the fuel shut off and is the only, well proper way to shut it off. The black knob on the left is a manual decompression for starting in cold weather. Glad you figured it out. I have seen postings on here before where people are asking for help while the tractor is still running trying to figure it out.:thumbsup:

Cool, good to know, I figured it was something like that. I'm a gear head, but all hot rods and stuff that runs on GAS, this is my first diesel, so I was a little worried about messing with the fuel cut off, etc.

Should be a fun little tractor!
