I am replacing the head gasket on my B6100. I found a small leak on the intake manifold side. I got the head off (a previous owner had snapped the head off of one of the bolts on so it took a little work to get that one out!) Any suggestions as to how to remove the carbon from the head before I measure it on a surface plate to see if it is warped? I have not removed the valves...is it necessary to remove them? Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks!
