B3200 BX2660 SIDE BY SIDE...NOT BETTER....DIFFERENT

Written specs and info sheets only go so far. Here are side by side pictures. B3200 60" Light metal bucket. BX2660 60" MMM. These are both great machines. They are just different. Here's hoping no one can say I'm putting their BX/B down by showing these pictures of both of my tractors. I like both of them. When I mow today I'll use the BX2660, it has the mowing deck already mounted on it. If I had any post holes to dig I'd use the B because the posthole digger is already mounted on it. Now can I possibly be any more neutral than that?

Now you have me looking @ owning both vs just entering into the BX2660. I don't think I'll sell the boss that EZ so BX 2660 here we come. Yeah you bet I have more of a need for mowing than anything else for the time being.

In all honesty, one certainaly can admire from afar your machiness. You also have a lovely house and such an incredibly beautiful pastoral setting up on that knoll. Thanks for sharing.

When are you getting the L?

I don't want to irritate the L owners and the "bigger is better" crowd but I had an L3240HST for one year and that's what I traded in for the B3200. That view comes from being up on the hill which means most of my property is hillside. The L has the same HP as the B and was 2000lbs heavier so one would think more stable and it may be but it sure didn't feel like it to me. It really felt tipsy on my hillside property. I put 35 hours on it in one year because it didn't serve my purposes. That's my purposes not other peoples but mine. I'm one of the few "bigger isn't always better" tractor guys and please don't start that I have the biggest of the B and BX, I already know that. I do have some "Tim the Toolman" mentality of "more power". It has taken me 6 years and 9 different Kubotas to determine "my needs" and each persons needs are different. Again, I think I have finally reached the right combination for my needs.
Thanks for the good words concerning my view. I thank God for it and it took me 20 years to finally buy it and build my home (garage and tractor building) myself (my brother and wife helped me) on it.

yeah, I think it's probably important to fit the tractor to your property and/or your needs. I've found out I could probably use the b3200 over my b2620 but I did what I could at the time and may upgrade eventually, but maybe not because I am pretty happy with what I have. I'll see if the b2620 plows and moves snow better this winter now that I have the tires loaded. For me an L would be nice to maintain my drive and subdivision road but to big for most of the other stuff I do because I've got some tight area's around my house, outbuildings and rock garden beds. Also a lot of slopes where you could get into trouble. Don't really want payments on two tractors so I needed to compromise. Interesting to hear that it took you awhile to figure out what you really needed. The b3200 seems like a good blend between the L's and the B's.

Do you mean bigger than other BX's or bigger than the one on the B3200? The improved or better seat on the BX2660 is one of the advertised features of the BX2660 over the other BX's along with the increased HP.

The seat on the BX2660 was a big selling factor for me as I am not the size of "normal" people. The seat is very comfortable and I like the high back that also reclines. Very cool! It gives me the additional leg room I need.

I was nervous when I bought the BX that it would be too small, and I would be kicking myself. But, what I found out was that if I had gotten a bigger tractor, I would have run into some "room to move" issues on my property. If I had a bigger tractor, I would not have been able to move around as easily in some of the tighter areas. With the BX I had no problems. It was so noticeable, that a newbie to tractors like me even realized it would have been an issue with a bigger tractor.

2 tractors is an easy hole to fall into...

I find the B chassis much tippier than the big ones on slopes myself. Higher center of gravity. The M59, which I think is pretty much a big L chassis, is totally comfortable on sidehills where the b3030 required an emergency underwear change.

I always thought the B vs BX posts were impartial, though some BX owners didn't take it that way I know. The B does stuff that would be ill suited to the BX. And vice versa - I bet I'd be better off with a BX and the m59 then with the B, which is really too heavy for the lawn, though I do it (weighted r4 tires, which I need for the hills, but don't make the grass too happy)
