Kubota B3030
Oh, the endless joys of Kubota products.....I sure miss my Kioti, shoulda never sold it.

I have a B3030. The 4x4 doesn't work. When shifting, I can feel the gears shift in to each other. So I'm assuming the problem is after the transmission. Maybe a busted driveshaft, broken gear etc in the front end? I looked at an assembly diagram for the 4x4 system. It's over my head, lot of parts in there. Anyone know these tractors well enough to point me in the right direction?

This tractor has been a POS since day one. Bought it used from some Amish guy.....NEVER trust the Amish. To add insult to injury, guy I bought it from filled the rear tires with WATER. That's all well and good in warm climates. Tires are frozen solid, literally. The thing has zero traction. I got it stuck in the grass today. Yes, stuck in the grass, not snow, not mud, but grass. Anyone wanna buy a piece of crap Kubota? Some key features: Underpowered, crappy hydro trans, weak *** loader, crappy 4x4, hard to start, slow, pathetic 3 point lift ability. Comfy seat though.

I'd trade it in on another Kioti if I were you. Not sure what help you're looking for, if the parts diagram was over your head take it to a dealer or mechanic.

I don't know What 'type' of "help" you are looking for when you come to a Kubota forum and have only negative things to say about Kubota...
Perhaps you should post this on the 'Kioti' forum.

Sounds like it needs some much needed servicing, perhaps a new air filter so it can breath right to produce the power it is capable of, remove the water and put in some rim-guard (I have water in my tractor tires but I don't use it in below freezing weather which we seldom have) repair the FWD whatever is broken, turn up the hydraulic pressure to maximum pressure per mfg., maybe a change of hydraulic filters will improve your slow pathetic lift or maybe you are just asking too much of the small tractor.
Some of this you could do, but if you cant read the front drive schematics, perhaps a dealer should look at all your problems and fix it all OR you could trade it in on another Kioti that you liked so well.

I just serviced it a month ago. The guy had regular hydro fluid in it and it wouldn't even move (literally) below freezing. That's taken care of now, but I didn't notice any difference as far as lift capacity goes. The loader can barely pick up a 700 lbs block of concrete into a pickup bed. The engine runs fine once it starts. I had to put on extra block heaters for it to start in the cold though. So a new air filter isn't going to do a thing.

If I knew the tires were filled with water, I would have drained them before winter. But the "salesman" assured me they had beet juice in them. The rear lift arms are rated for quite a bit of weight, forget how much off hand. But it struggles to lift a 7' back blade. These are only the recent problems I've had with it, I've spent more time fixing this than I have actually using it and that's not an exaggeration. Long story short, this thing is a pile of junk. I sold my old Kioti in order to "upgrade" to a fancy Kubota. That cheap little Kioti outperformed this new newer Kubota, hands down. Talk about paying for a name..

Now, to the original question. Does anyone know these models well enough to guide me in the right direction as far as fixing the 4x4? Are there any known issues with these that often break for other people? I'm sure this isn't the first time it's happened. You guys are too brand loyal on here and it seems I hurt some feelings. I posted this in the Kubota forum because it's a Kubota tractor. I would have done the exact same thing if I had a MF, a New Holland, etc.

You just barged into a room full of guys visiting and started bitching about stuff. So you gotta expect some resistance.

It's very rare to hear of problems with the front drive assembly. I actually don't think I've ever heard of a problem with that series of tractor. With that said, I firmly believe in the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Stupid. I'd start with the simplest things and work out from there. For example, what were you doing when it quit??? Load bang?? Grinding noises?? Or was it working fine last time you used it and now it doesn't?? That type of thinking will guide you to the problem.

As to the other problems, can't help you there. Become familiar with the specifications of the tractor, then when you use it you'll know whether it's actually a problem or if it's actually the limit of the tractor.

Wish you were closer. I'm looking for a tractor that size and would certainly buy the POS off you. At POS price of course.

MJ, with the issues you have with your B3030 I don't think you'll ever be happy with the tractor even if you get the 4 X 4 repaired. Trading it in on a Kioti would probably be your best bet. Get a price from your Kioti dealer/s on what they will give you for the 3030 and go from there. If the 3030 is giving you this much aggravation just let it go and move on, you'll probably be much happier and healthier. Good luck, let us know what you decide to do. Stanley

Mj I don't belive you, I have owned a B3030 for 5 years and 750 hrs on it. I don't know what size Kioti you have But the B3030 is a good machine.
As for the four wheel problem, at one time a roll pin backed out of the drive shaft started hitting the frame made a **** of a noise. I stopped replace the pin. Not a problem since. If that pin fell out you would loose wheel drive.
But again I think your playing with us. Stuck on the grass?

Yeah furthermore a 7ft blade for that tractor snow or not is way too big for that size tractor.

Could it be that the linkage engaging the 4x4 is bent or broken?

Three point hitch: Could the valve below the seat be shut tight effectively preventing proper hydraulic flow? This valve regulates the speed of the 3pt hitch also.

3pt hitch: could the loader valve or an auxiliary be partially open making the relief valve activate dumping pressure? How bout a half coupled hydraulic connection for the loader?

This should point you in the right direction.

Can you elaborate on the stuck on grass comment?
