B3030 vs. JD3320? Pro's and Con's?

We are looking at making an upgrade to either a Kubota B3030HSDCC or a Deere 3320 Cab. Which ever one we decide on will have the following attachments: FEL, Factory Cab, Rear Blower. The tractor will be primarily used for snow removal as we tend to get quite a bit of snow up here. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

You are looking at two tractors that are really quite different, certainly in weight, and capacity. Since they are quite different, I would think that a test drive in both would give you a clear preference for one, or the other. Both will certainly move snow! When you check out the Kubota, make sure it has the new seat, since there is a considerable difference in comfort between the old one, and the new one.

Really depends on what your use is. If it is finish mowing the 3030 has a slight advantage given the lighter weight... that said the 3320 will fnish mow just fine as well.

For snow removal, I would think that either will perform well. The JD 3320 is heavier which can help with traction.

Being a Kubota guy myself, between those two I would pick the JD 3320 particularly with a CX loader. It is more tractor than the 3030.

That said, if you are considering a JD 3320, you might want to compare it to a Grand L 3240 HSTC, which I would personally pick over the JD 3320. I expect that the price between the JD 3320 and the Grand L 3240 would be close.

Oh yeah... don't think about not getting a loader. With a loader your tractor will be many times more useful than without.

I agree with Canoetrpr. I was deciding last year between the B3030 and the 3320. I use mine for mowing 7 acres, plowing snow, FEL work, & rear spreader from the rear PTO. I liked the 3320 very much and the price wasn't all that much more, but the deere dealer told me that the 3320 was a much heavier machine and he also compared it to the Grand L series. The Deere dealer suggested I purchase the Kubota since I was going to do so much mowing due to the weight difference, as Canoetrpr also stated. I have plowed with my B3030 with no issues. For my applications The B3030 was just the right tractor, and I really don't see any need to upgrade. Hopefully this tractor will be the last. Many other B3030 owners are using their tractors for blowing snow on very long driveways and have always sung their praises. that being said, the 3320 guys also are very pleased with their units and would tell you the same thing. In the end, for me, it came down to the dealer. the Kubota dealer was closer to me by a half hour, both have good service and treated me well. I believe this one would come down to personal perference as either tractor would be a very good piece of equipment.

In a cab tractor I had a John Deere salesman recommend the 3520 over the 3320. He felt that with a cab and air the 3320 was a little under powered.

A 3320 is about the size of a Kubota L3540 cab. Right now, no one makes a machine to compete with a B3030 cab. If you want to drive, I have a 3520, cab, heat, air, loader, and mower deck with 30 hours on it for 25,000.

i was looking at the same 2 machines, i went with the 3320 due to the larger size/capacity (ended up cheaper and dealer threw in a lot more stuff etc.) i also had a crappy kubota dealer, and he did nothing to educate me regarding the grand series..in fact told me there was no mid mount pto on those (so never really looked at them (was a lie). in the end i couldnt be happier. i dont do a lot of pto stuff..and my rpm is run usually a bit lower so went with bigger block over the turbo on the 3520. i agree the 3030 is a bit unique, and the 3x series of JD is more like the grand L in size/specs. I guess there are some new machines comin down the pike on the JD side, 2720 or somethin and some 29 machine..maybe those are closer to the 3030.
