B3030 cab

I have heard that the cab for a B3030 must be installed at the time of manufacturing. I would think you could order one later and install it yourself. Any one have any experience with this?

This is America and anything can be done here. That said, I just went out to the barn to look mine over (B3030 w/ cab).

The cab has A/C so another radiator will need to be installed and plumbed.
The wiper and work light switches wired in. With a factory installed cab they are on the dash, so you'll either have to cut two holes for them or mount them another way.
If you have a FEL the joystick will have to be moved and replumbed. A differant style joystick is used with the cab.
ROPS bar will need to be removed for the cab. ROPS is incorperated into the cab.

These are just a few things that will have to be considered.

The big question I would have is "Can I get a cab sold seperately?"

I should also add that a BH cannot be used with the cab model. Hopefully someone is going to come out with a BH that will work with the cab but as of three months ago I hadn't found anything. Then again, it's not a high priority with me.

The B3030 factory cab is installed at the plant, to add it later is foolish. Curtis makes a good cab, i owned one. Lauren also makes a cab so nice, you would think it was factory!

I have learned from experience that there are lots of things that Kubota offers as a factory installed item, that can not be ordered separately for installation later on. It might be the legal department sees this as a large liability issue, or it might be that it is so integrated into the machine that to add it later on would be like rebuilding the machine and would be cost prohibitive. It is alway less expensive to order it the way that you ultimately want it from he factory than it will be to try to retrofit a machine later on. In the 1960's it was commonplace to add air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, etc. to cars. Today, it can't be done because they are too complex and the parts all have to be integrated for everything to work as planned. Same for the modern day tractor. It is no longer just a cab, but part of a greater system that can't be modified after production. Dusty
