From the manual and what I can gather by searching here, this yellow dipstick in the picture (front axle) is just supposed to pull out. I have pried on it with a screwdriver. It just does not want to give. I feel like I am about to break something. I am going to spray a little Liquid Wrench around it when I get home to see if that helps. It is supposed to pull straight out right?

I had the same problem, don't use LW, use a pair of channel locks and a piece of wood to get leverage and pry it out.

It APPEARS to be a dipstick. It probably has an o-ring and might be stuck to the housing. I would try protecting it with a rag or such and try gently rotating it with pliers. I wouldn't think it has threads because of the lack of a leverage device to open it, but the trans and axle lube check points on my Kubota are threaded.

geneP, It will rotate freely. Just wont come out. It does seem the o-ring is stuck to the housing which would still allow the dipstick to rotate.

Hunter29, Will try the channel locks and wood. I wanted to make absolutely sure from someone who has/had a B2920 that it just pulls out. I didn't want to have one of those "Man, I sure wish I would have asked before I pulled so hard" moments.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't remember if it has an O ring or not, either way it is very hard rubber, it will come out but will require a lot of force...

Probably slight corrosion above o-ring not allowing to come out.

Makes sense. I will try again either tonight or in the morning.

The BX model and my M2620 has the same stick on the front axle. They do fit tight and do have an O-ring seal; but it will pull out if'n you can get enough grunt on it some way. After doing a check, I take some of the fluid and smear it around the O-ring and the hole. But even then, it fits real tight.........which is a good thing.

That Mississippi mud sure is red....helps keep that dip stick seated real good.:D
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks Mike

Haha! That mud makes a great orange dye and is slicker than deer guts on a door knob. I try to stay out of it. I got stuck between a rock and a hard place and had to go through some of it. It gummed up on the tires making them appear twice as wide as they were. I scraped some off and slung the rest off. Ducking occasionally. :irked:

My B2620 has/have the same problem. Channel locks help.
