Have a whine/whirl/grind coming from the right side (from seated position) just in front of my foot. Only occurs at moderate and higher ground speeds in Medium and High range.

Neighbor and dealer said likely cavitation. Changed the fluid (Super UDT), filter and cleaned the screens. Seems like it is a bit worse now; comes in at lower speed and load than before change.

Wondering if others have had similar problems and suggested cures. Dealer (who has been great) is coming down today to take a look. 53 hours on the machine.

By the way, had about a dimes worth of shavings on the right hand screen, and about a quarter that amount on the left screen. Normal??

Thanks in advance!

The shavings you found on the screens sounds normal to me. As for the noises it makes, it's hard to describe sound with the printed word. Naturally there are a number of whining/growling, or something, sounds that are normal (at least I hope they're normal), but I wouldn't know how to describe them./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Read the 2910 Steering Problem post with interest. Seems the filtering issue could have implications throughout the hydraulic system. Are there any sketches/scans of the pre and post retrofit available on this site; did a brief search w/o success??
