Is the fuel filter housing bad?

When you remove the glass bowl to replace the fuel filter the fuel stops flowing.
After replacing the filter, when you screw the bowl back on, the fuel starts flowing.

So, could the housing be bad?
Or the filter bowl is not tight?

The fuel never enters the reservoir faster than a drip. Whether the bowl is screwed in or not. When installed Isn’t the filter supposed to open a valve to let the fuel flow?

He bled at injectors with the bleed screw out and that is when it would run is how I read.
Very weird, but it is the last point before the inj pump

I bleed at the screw, closed it, bled at injector. They were not open at the same time.

Having re-read all of these posts seems to me there are 2 solid pieces of evidence.
1) You noticed when cranking it may go 4 seconds with no fuel and then one surge. [I think that is because there is only a tiny flow making it through and if you wait a while it will catch up with just enough fuel to feed the injection pump for 4 seconds of running...]
2) You mention that "the reservoir" (meaning the fuel bowl?) never gives you more flow than just a slow drip. Well... there is the problem I would think. Find out why you have only a drip into "the reservoir" and work your way back towards the tank. Check whatever is in the path.

Worst case go to the point just after "the reservoir" and insert the equivalent of a hospital drip bag full of fuel and hang it up high enough to provide gravity flow. See if it starts and runs OK from the drip bag. If so work your way back from there.

Yes.
When the filter is screwed back onto the filter housing, fuel should start flowing.

That is why I question the housing the filter mounts to.

Sounds like a blockage between the tank and fuel pump. Seems its unable to deliver fuel to the injection pump properly. Unhook the fuel hose at the fuel pump, (remove the fuel fill cap on the tank) blow some compressed air back through to the tank. Its gotta be a blockage, or that fuel pump is just plain shot. Could test the fuel pressure at the pump too, to make sure its building pressure. No pressure, no fuel able to flow up to the injection pump.

Nothing yet, I can work on this tomorrow morning. Unfortunately it’s inaccessible except by foot in 2 1/2’ snow. And the temps have been single digits overnight and below freezing during the day. I used 911 in hopes of preventing gelling.

Something has to be plugging a line. I’ve run 2 fresh room temp tanks of fuel through.

I never heard after post #14: Does he have a way to heat the location of the tractor or get it into a warm garage or barn? It seems very possible there is gel somewhere in the system and if the tractor ever got TOTALLY warm inside/out there may be nothing wrong. ??
