Wow , I had no idea they came with that much assembly required .

Been a while since I checked in here. I really need to get some pictures up. I've recently installed 4 LED lights to the ROPS for this thing. It's nice to finally be able to use the tractor at night. The lack of lighting on this tractor disappointed me, and the OEM headlights are at the exact height I keep the loader when hauling something, so using the tractor at night was impossible. It's dark when I get out of work now, so it was pretty important to add these lights. I need to clean up the wiring some before I post any pictures, I just did a quick setup so I could be sure I liked the location and aim before finalizing anything.

I wouldn't want to mess with your pet skunk, LOL. Is that how you prevent theft, LOL.

Nice lights. I think I am going to switch to LED's. I like the nice white light.

I like the led's as they are smaller than conventional, and take up way less juice - I wired them so I can flip a switch and turn them on with the tractor key off. Not worried about battery life with these guys. They put out 600lumens each, I have two facing front and two facing rear. They are aimed low to light up the working area, not so much lighting up anything in the distance. Figured I didn't need to see anything too far off in the distance.

I was out on the maiden voyage of testing the lights, was almost through pulling a u-ey and came across that little bugger. I paused and let him scamper off into the neighbors yard LOL

The ol' girl got a little workout after this last snowstorm we experienced. She's got a little over 107 hours on the clock now and runs better than ever. I had lowered the idle speed from the 1100+/- it was at when I bought it down to around 800 during the summer. That's a little too low in the winter, makes for harder starts and sounded poor when idling, so I brought it up to 950. It starts great and sounds normal as well. I hate snowbanks, so I generally snowblow my driveway/yard. I had some issues with that machine so I used the tractor. I made a rather large snowbank off the corner of the driveway that I intended to move as soon as the ground froze out back. We had a few days of 50+ degrees and rain prior to this storm, so needless to say whatever frost was in the ground - let out. Here's a couple shots of moving the snowbank.

And a couple shots of the muddy mess I made prior to the storm as I had no choice but to move some pallet stacks out back :(

Cheers to a good winter for everyone!

Also on one last note - what's everyone running for oil in the winter in their tractor? I had 15-40w in the summer months, but feel like that's a little heavy for the winter. We see temps 0-32 throughout most of the winter. Not often is it below 0 but happens occasionally.

Good decision on the LED lights. I replaced my 35w front facing halogens last year with two Tuff LED lights and wow, what a difference when out moving snow at night, which is about 16 hours a day this time of year - haha. Anyway, I replaced my single rear halogen with another Tuff LED this year, so backing up now should be like looking west at dawn on a nice day, well almost anyway.

To answer your oil question tktom-
If you're a conventional oil guy,a 10W30 diesel oil would be ideal for your use year round.
Kubota's factory fill is 10W30.
Shell Rotella 10W30 at auto parts stores or Kubota oil at the dealer are good choices.
If you like synthetics, any diesel rated(CJ-4)5W40 oil like Shell Rotella T6,Delvac,etc. would be fine as well.
Good Luck!

The LEDs were definitely the way to go.

I'm a believer in a fully broken in engine before switching to synthetic, so I'll hold off at least another change before doing that. I'll step back to a 10w30 then for the winter, I don't have a block heater.

My dealer suggested using 10w/30 kubota oil and filters as long as it was under warranty and then use whatever I wanted . It was just a suggestion on his part, it wasn't just to sell the oil . I will support my kubota dealer at any rate as i would like to see him stay in business .
