I am not sure yet, I need to figure out shipping costs, would like to include shipping in price. I will let everyone know when I get it all figured out. This is not something I have done before. I only do it it my spare time.

I was 1000' back in the bush when my tractor (B7610) died. After looking around I see the fuel filter is gone. I figured it got knocked off by the brush, but actually it unscrewed(<15 hrs.). We found the filter and oring is the brush and got going quickly.
I couldn't believe how exposed the filter is. Your idea would probably fit mine as well.
Broke a tooth on my backhoe today. I see I'm not the only one.

As we speak, I'm on my way out to check the same spot on my B7800. If it looks like a go, I'd also add myself to the list of a paying customer of yours.

I have them bent up, I need to weld them and paint them yet. It is bitter cold here right now, 0 with 20 mile an hour wind, so I am just holed up in the house this weekend.

Thats a really nice fabrication, but I have a question.

What keeps it from pivioting on the one single bolt??? Seems to me you could still pivot the thing and actually turn it into the filter.

Let me know........

You are correct although it is a pretty large bolt and going to take an awful lot of force to turn it. It will not survive small thermal nuclear devices.:D

Gomer, any update on availability of the fuel filter protector?

I am going to weld up and paint tomorrow. I can ship for $5 thru USPS. I will see how long it takes to weld and paint.

Not sure about selling things on this forum, is that a no-no?

I will probably post an email address and/or paypal account so we don't break any rules and regulations

I bet someone would have traded you their replacement seat for one of these if you had offered these a few months ago! Would have saved you some aggravation!

Looks like this will work with the 7610 as well. I'll be looking forward to it if it's feasible for you to produce.

Thanks for the post!
Keith

Here are some pics of the finished product. Welded them up yesterday, sanded the rough edges then bead blasted them before painting. The rounded part is done by bump breaking which is several small bends (you can see in pics). Because the metal is coated to except paint and resist rust I couldn't heat them and I didn't have a roller.

I could not start my tractor 1 day and I could not figure out why. I had just fueled it up so I never checked that. Messed with everything else and then finally checked the fuel - EMPTY. My barn has a gravel floor so I did not notice a puddle or anything. I finally figured out that the filter had unscrewed a little - and leaked the fuel. 5 gallons of it. Not sure if it was a stick or just vibrations but now I check it every once in a while.

Great idea Gomer!

Sadly the bolts on my B7800 are configured differently in that area. Oh well, at least I have an idea on how to protect my B7800 filter now.

I received the guard today and am very pleased with it. The 1/2" impact gun would not break the bolt loose. Finally got a breaker bar on it and pushed it with my foot to break it loose. Looks good. Thanks

Great, glad you were happy with it. Those bolts can be a pain. I think I needed a breaker bar for mine too.

Think of it as helping a brother out:D If I sell enough of them it might cover the paint and time to make them. I'm not really IN the business just playing around. Now if I can find a post office with the boxes in stock I'll be golden.
