PLEASE NOTE!!! There are 4 FOUR Hydro drains. The front trans one is not even shown or mentioned in the owners manual...This write up really saved me. I would have been extremely pi--ed off if I would of missed it. Just like I missed the #2 engine oil drain plug the 1st time I changed the oil :confused2: once again not mentioned in the manual:confused2::confused2::confused2:

And I also changed the hydro fluid at 58 hrs, Both filters, fuel, Front axel lube and the outer air filter. Seemed worth it for such an investment that I plan on keeping a long time. Its your tractors life blood.

I also changed it all at 55 hrs.....Peace of mind at the price of 4 gals of SUDT engine oil and all the filters.....

I made the decision when I saw the dark oil coming out..... ;)

I went out and looked at the oil. You're right, not SUDT. I asked the associate for SUDT and he handed me the bucket. It stated that it meets Kubota UDT and Kubota Transhydraulic recommendations. Not the SUDT. Darn.

I stopped by TSC yesterday - they had the "Mystic JT-5" brand of fluid that said it was a replacment for Kubota SUDT on the label. However, for about $10 more I can get the SUDT from Coleman Equip - so probably best to go with the MFG recommendations for that minor difference in price.

I did my 50 hour service recently and just went with Kubota oil. I was at the dealer getting the SUDT so I got the Kubota engine oil as well. I've always ran Mobil Delvac in my previous diesels. Plenty of good oils out there to choose from.

Wow! Is that your SUDT? Mine still looked clear?

Yep that's SUDT at the 55 hr mark, but I did ride the Bota pretty hard digging stumps and logging out some.....There was a few times she was pretty hot......

I would be willing to bet that a very big chuck of new Kubotas (or any other brands) don't actually come with the manufacturers fluid. These things are shipped dry in crates and if the dealers are paying attention to the bottom line they buy oil and fluids in bulk drums or have them pumped into a storage tank.
That is fine with me because the manufacturers are not in the oil refinery business.
The only manufacturer/dealer that I have ever seen to try to counteract this is polaris. When they deliver the new atvs the oil has a dye in it so if it is not replaced with polaris oil they have a warranty out. As if polaris 0-20 is better than mobil 1 0-20!
Cars are obviously shipped with manufacturers oil so they can be driven on and off the delivery trucks but every one of them serviced by a dealer gets oil/etc from a supplier like chesapeake petroleum. The only people who actually get the original brand name fluid are the do it yourselfers. These people are paying a steep price for fluid marked up by a dealer (vs walmart) for fluid that was not made by the manufacturer anyway.

For my 25k set up I went to a dealer, bought SUDT and changed all the fluid and both filters at 50 hours. with all the sudt vs udt I was not clear on what a exact match was. I am not knocking doing this at all I am just pointing out that many tractors have fluid put in by the dealer and it might not be sudt or udt. and that exxon/mobil, chesapeake etc make all the fluids anyway.

Actually, I had quizzed about this recently in another post; whether the Kubotas arrive with fluid. Someone from Messicks commented they do indeed come with fluid in them, but the dealer may have to top it off from attachments like the FEL.

Just how much would you be willing to bet that Kubotas arrive at the dealer without fluids?:)

JT - considering your numerous trips to Barlows for your numerous brand new tractors I would not be willing to wager much! I have seen them in crates and they look pretty bare . I would think they would have motor oil and not hydro but now that I have typed that don't know why.
