Here's the pics as promised guys. Spent the better part of two days moving 15 yds of dirt and mulch. Also popped a large-ish shrub out with the backhoe and moved it to the front yard. Finally, my brother and I moved a couple tons of rocks into my rock pile. (I have a wall project coming up.)
The purchasing experience was amazing. I priced my setup --
B2620 TLB with thumb -- with 4 dealers including some quite far away. Initially the low price was a popular spot quite far from Massachusetts, but I gave my local dealer the last bite at the apple and he beat the price. Yes, I had to pay sales tax and he made a few extra bucks compared to the long distance guy, (since "shipping" meant a 10 mile delivery) but in the end, I am happy to give a local guy my business. I also bought it over the phone. He delivered it to my house on a verbal handshake and I didn't even write a check or sign the contracts until it was in my driveway. Easy as pie. They also sent the service guy rather than the truck driver to deliver it so he could give me the 30 minute walkthrough/demo in person. Nice touch.
I have to say I am thrilled with the tractor. I used to have a diesel Deere garden tractor and I have noodled around with my folk's
L3130 at their place, but this is my first "real" tractor. The three-range hydro is pretty sweet. I did all my work in medium, which was nice since I was moving mulch and topsoil about 200 yards. The hydro is a bit loud at lower speeds, but nothing super bothersome. Loader work was great, especially with the backoe ballasting the back. Even as a novice, I had no problem getting full buckets cleanly scraped off of my driveway. I am a total goofball with the backhoe. Obviously it will take some practice, but I managed to do a little work without hurting myself or the tractor. Hehe.
Here's some pics.
