B26 Stabilizer question

/ B26 Stabilizer question #21
...but I always felt that they should have designed the B26 around the B3030 instead of the B2630, then it would have been the perfect machine, the B30. Just my opinion.

The B3030 and the B2630 are identical with the exception of the engine. B3030 has 1 more cylinder at 4. I think the B2630 is smoother with the 3 and I have never lacked for power, even on the pto.

Carl,
tool box mounts under right side footboard.Brackets should be there

Do you guys with the loaded tires have the B26? I have a B2630 and they say not to load the tires if you have the backhoe.

I foamed mine added about 1200lbs to it and could not imagine using it if it was any lighter

I have the toolbox on my B26 and it goes where Digger2 said but the bracket is not there. In my case the box came with an "L" bracket that you bolt to existing holes in the frame and then you bolt the box to the bracket. It is about 4" x 4" x 14" long and is very light duty metal. I keep a couple of nylon straps, a tape measure and some extre pins for the backhoe in there.

Wrt to loading the rear tires, I agree with Powerstroke. I loaded the rear tires on my B21 from new and put 1800 hours on it before purchasing my B26 two years ago and never had a problem with them. When I picked up my B26 I had the rears on it loaded and have had no problems.

I highly recommend foaming the front tires on these machines as I had numerous flats on the B21 prior to foaming the fronts. I think I will foam the fronts and the rears next time around.

Yeah,I just checked....bracket bolts on not welded on like I thought it did:eek:.Sorry about that.Actually if they were made heavy enough, they could have one on the left side too,and then you could use it as a step.Just put some "grippers treads" on the lid so your shoes dont slip.Of course you would have to cut off the original step to do this idea, and add a brace to keep it stiff.

That "extra" pin might be for the backhoe when transporting. The pin keeps the hoe from swinging side to side and goes in a set of holes pretty close to your right foot when sitting at the backhoe.
