b2320 enough power for a 60 in. mmm?

b2320 with 60 in. mmm owners,
I'm considering a b2320 with a 60 in. mmm. Does the 2320 "handle" the 60 in. mmm from a power prospective well? Your opinions are appreciated!

I have a 60" mower on my BX running WITH a PTO powered Kubota bagger on hilly terrain in High Range with no trouble at all. And I'm running a "mere" 22 hp vs. the 23 hp of the B2320.

The 60" deck is a dream. I can mow and bag about an acre of grass while dodging trees in under 45 minutes. And that's taking my time, getting all the odd little stragglers.

I have a B2320 and it has more than enough power for my 60 inch MMM. I planted new grass around the yard and didn't want to mow my surrounding grass in fear that I would blow the straw off of my new lawn so I haven't mowed my yard for 3 weeks. The grass got to at least 6 inches tall. I mowed it wet last night and the mower didn't complain in the least. I mowed some taller pasture (two feet tall) with it in early spring and it grumbled a little but not bad. It is not something I normally do but I was just mowing it to increase the size of my yard a little.

With that being said, if I could do it over again, I would buy the 2620 for the increased loader size and extra HP for box scraping and other tractor work. Mine worked just fine for doing those tasks also but I could tell it was working harder. If mowing is your concern though, you don't have much to worry about.

Unless you're trying to do rough cutting with a MMM, you should have more than enough power.

Thanks Guys! Your reponses were exactly what I was looking for. I believe in going up one size above what you need rule and I'm thinking the 2320 just that for me any application. I know for a few dollars more you can get a b2620 and It's somewhat more of a tractor. I just can't justify it with my 95%mowing of 2.5 acres and very light garden work.

I have a B2320 with a 54" MMM, I wish I had the 60" instead. The 54" is barelly wider than the rear tires and that makes it very difficult to cut close to fences, minimize trimming, etc. The power is definitely not an issue, this thing can cut the grass in high range and you will not even notice any change in RPM when you hit tall grass patches.

Go for the 60" without hesitation.

I assume you have been using the box blade on the BX2350.
If the B2320 won't handle i't better keep the BX2350.

Actually I've not been able to determine how the BX2350 does with a 5ft box blade because it is has turfs and traction is a issue. The B23320 I'm considering will have R4's.

Go with R 1 tires.

I went with a Land pride 54 inch Box Blade with my B2320. It is the largest that the owner's manual recommended. I have R4s on mine that are not loaded. If I put my scarifiers all the way down I can tear the ground up but it won't pull it if the box hits the gound. If I raise my scarifiers all the way up I can' pull a full box of dirt (clay in my case). With the scarifiers in the middle notch it I can pull about half a box. I moved a lot of dirt around my house and did a fine job, but it did "grunt" a little at times. Now that I am done with the major dirt work around my house, my B2320 should handle the mowing, driveway grading, light loader work, etc with ease. I think your 5 ft box blade will surely test the limits of the 2320. If you are planning on using your box blade a lot then I would want at least a 2620 with loaded R4s. A 3030 would be even better. If you just have one project to do then the 2320 will most likely get you by. If you can afford it, I would recommend getting the 2620 regardless. The increase in HP and the larger loader make it a pretty good upgrade for the money. I don't see where the 2920 is worth it though. Just my opinion....

No problem Steve. I was in your same position just about 6 - 8 months ago so I know what it is like trying to find information. This website has been great. My primary purpose for the tractor was for mowing so I didn't want to go any bigger or heavier than I had to because I didn't want to lose maneuverability and dig into the yard. On the other hand, I had a new yard to work up and wanted something big enough to move some dirt with my scraper and do some landscaping with my loader. The B series is a pretty good combination of the two abilities. If you are going to do a lot of scraping just keep in mind the lack of position control. It is a pretty serious drawback to me if you are going to do a lot. Now that I'm done with my yard though, I think it will only be a minor nuissance when blading the drive. I still hope to have a ZTR for mowing and maybe a 3030 for tractor work some day which I think would be even more optimal for me. But right now I don't have the money or garage space to give up. I used to have a BX2230 with 60" mmm and I could cut thick heavy grass....even wet grass with no problems......wouldn't even bog down.
