Buying Advice B2301

Hello All,

New to the forum and need help from the experts. Found a used B2301 with only 147 hrs with FEL and forks. What should be its price be, seller asking $14k.
Lastly i have 5 acres of swamp to grade and pull stumps from dead ash trees.

In my opinion $14,000 is a good price in Florida. $14,000 should be a really good price in New York.

View a cash bill of sale from the dealer or paid off loan confirmation to be sure there are no liens on a tractor that is such a good deal. If seller does not have one-or-the-other document, tractor may be stolen.

B2301 weighs 1,566 pounds, bare tractor. It takes a tractor with a bare weight of 5,000 pounds to pull decayed stumps.

Tractors are not good in swamps. Tractor wheels/tires spin easily under load in mud, rutting the tractor right down to the axles.

You need tracked equipment to work in swampy conditions.

Does the swamp occasionally dry out COMPLETELY?

Oh yeh, summer time its turns in rock hard clay. It just swampy right now.

I dont have to pull stumps out, just burn them in place is an option too.

Consider having stumps ground to grade.

Your can grade with a B2301 if you wait until soil is just a little damp but grading will be slow. If it is wet 12" down, you will mire the tractor.

I suggest hiring a tracked excavator. Very low pressure on damp ground.

i think the renting the excavator to do the work will be cost prohibitive for me.
