B2230 can it handle it...

can a B2230 handle a 48 inch tiller that we have the soil is not rocky but it has some clay.what do you think

I have a 52" tiller behind my 2200. Not a problem. I ran it in hard clay. With the HST, you can just go slow.

I found that setting the skid shoes at 2" kept it from clanging and banging. Multiple passes yielded more depth.

I went with 52" so I could cover my tracks.

I have a KK 48 and it does fine with clay and rocks. I have the 2200 and have no complaints. I works great, but do run it at full PTO and slow ground speed. Also keep the depth shy at first, but have to say that after a couple of passes on the top, I was tilling 8 inches and turning clods to dust.

I haven't found anything the BX2200 can't do (though I suppose some smart alec is gonna chime in and say fly or something /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ). It just does things a little smaller a little more prograessivly, a little slower than the BIG guys.

BX23 with 50" tiller, heavy clay soil, no problem at all.

Only thing I have found is that the clay stays wet for a long time. It is important to be patient and wait for it to dry out before tilling. Makes for a much better result, and the tiller runs a lot smoother.
