I need a wee bit of clarification with regards to a B20 Range Selector operation.

I understand the "U" pattern, starting with High range in the upper right position, down through a neutral, into Mid range at the base of the "U", and now here is the question. From the Mid range position I take it the pin on the lever is supposed to slid into a second lever below the surface of the cover, and from this point the second and first lever progress forward to the second neutral, and then forward to low range.

I just want to confirm that this is the correct operation as I appear to be able to slide the lever forward towards Low without engaging the second lever via the pin. (or now that I'm back in the house am I just thinking I did......???)

Thanks in advance!

A little wear and or bent "gate/U" will cause the linkage to not engage the pin. Also make sure the gate is not loose.
