I've been reading that the B series seems to commonly have an issue with the temperature gauge not registering accurately and that one of the fixes is to tighten the wire connection to the motor. I believe I have this issue on my B2920, which doesn't seem to move much past the C on the gauge even after use for a couple of hours of constant running. Its still under warranty with only 70 hours on it, so I want to try and fix the problem now so that I can get a new gauge via warranty if needed. That brings me to my question - Can anyone point me to the location of the wire that connects the gauge to the engine so I can tighten it? Am I right in thinking that the gauge is not registering correctly?

I'm assuming that this might also be covered in a repair manual, so any pointers to a quality one of those would be good as well (I need to get one sooner or later). Thanks!

I have a B7800 with 500 hrs and the temperature needle has never gone above the top of the "C". When I use my most heavy mower on the hotest days, it will move a little above that.
I am not sure you have a problem (or we both do).

I agree with Dr.Bob. The only time I got my guage above "C" was when the grill and rad screen were clogging up with chaff after a long day of bush-hogging.

Add me to the list of cool B's. My 7800 barely moves past the top of the C also.

Huh, maybe it's just normal operation on these? Maybe the question is whether or not anyone has one that reads anything other than 'C' or slightly above.

These kubotas are massively overcooled. In addition to cooling the engine, the entire tractor runs on hydraulic oil which also has to be cooled. Unless they are worked very hard for a long period of time, they will not get too warm. That and the gauges aren't very accurate.

Very common for these tractors. The gauge is just not very accurate. I have put a infrared thermometer on mine and had it read 210*F at the sender and the gauge was still only a 1/4 way up. I am sure the engine is well past the danger zone when the gauge hits the red.:(

I'm in the "top of the C" club too. Only time it ever got higher was when I completely plugged the front screen in the summer from mowing in grass higher than the hood.

Same here. Barely moves out of the cold zone on hot summer evenings while mowing. In the winter, needle just moves off the bottom of the scale.

Where does the temp wire connect to the engine? Mine runs cool too but half he time he needle is dead and does not register at all. Throttle fluctuations seem to affect it somehow .
