Another example of how stupid gold rush can be at times is the one on the latest season, where they had to have the wash plant 3 feet higher then the gold catching box thing (cant remember the name for it). They decided to lift up the washplant, and build a 3 foot high mound under it. They have a d8 cat there, why not just grade the land a bit. :confused2:

Best thing about these shows is the equipment. If they made a show about the widening of the Panama Canal, I'd watch it every week. Nobody would even have to talk. I'd just watch the equipment. As a matter of fact, I'm sorry anybody talks in the rest of them. Gets in the way of watching the equipment.

I agree 100%

I gave up on this crap.

Glad to see Browning out of it as they were the only ones that seemed to have a clue.

Swamp Loggers wasnt too bad with the drama. Neither was American Loggers with the guys in Maine.

I pretty much hate all the "Reality" shows.. Fake drama for ratings.

This goes double for Gold Rush. Thats the fakeist of the bunch... And i'll admit, they fooled me the first year.. but not no more. Read up Jimmy Dorsey's story for the behind the scenes stuff.

I might reconsider my opinion of reality shows if this happens. Maybe a bit of mild narration, discussing the equipment, but no drama... or "suspenseful" music.

I agree. I am the kind of person who would rather stand at the side of a road and watch an excavator dig a big pit, then watch ''reality'' tv.

Just saw the latest Ax-men and seeing Dave's truck getting hit by a falling tree was pretty good.:ashamed:

would you trust hiring a logger that hit his own rig?

what a bunch of losers. Here in idaho they log trees with front end loader/processors. no man even on the ground

Not much damage. Just keep the back top off of it..LOLI would like to know if it was really his or if it was a clunker they pushed into place to make the drama..Nothing says these shows have to be truthful and portray the ''norm''
Hard to imagine these shows runing for years like the old time shows..

During the Jurassic period when I was a baby, my parents would drive around until they found a piece of construction equipment as it was the only way I'd stop crying when in the car. When I was 3, they put me in an excavator bucket as if it were an amusement ride . That sought of thing is frowned upon today. I used this photo in my resume to prove I was hatched from a steam shovel.

Just watched "american shippers"? for the first time last night....not too bad, as I've used Uship a few times. The one gal is pretty easy on the eyes.
But....the guy driving the KW......a new 150K trailer???? Seriously......

Glad to see Browning out of it as they were the only ones that seemed to have a clue.

The Brownings had a tragic loss in their family, Jesse Browning's daughter
was mauled to death by a dog and they touched on it a bit on one episode.
The Brownings did the right thing by getting out of the show. I think the
it changed the way the family looked at things and wanted out of the lime
light. Having lost my own son last year the last thing I'd want is a camera
in face. It's been 6 months exactly today for us sorry can't talk about it.

I remeber that episode, when they were planting flowers for the daughter.

Sorry, to hear about your son passing away.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

There are more important things than being on a TV show, thats for sure.

I like watching it for the equipment too like someone already mentioned. Shelby Stanga is entertaining as anything to me even though it's all fake. Him and his pup willy. HERE WE GO!

My little one loves that little willy dog. I tivo the show so i can fast forward through the s&s logging portions, those two are unhealthy. I did see they were going to show some horselogging and east coast loggers this year.
There was a promo that came though about full metal jousting, but I have not heard anything else about that.
