The media have a lot to answer for portraying us as desert dwellers, we get questions about the deadly Birdsville track, the number of people who break down and are nhot found for weeks, maybe back in the 40's but it is now bitumen and like a freeway with more tourist buses than you could have imagined existed.
Rumour has it we may even get traffic lights soon

You might want to reconsider that. The next thing tht you know people will want indoor plumbing, television and the Internet; you wouldn't believe the problems which each of those bring with them. :laughing:

We should work to put out the fires of falsehoods. Fire is a bad thing....let's not make it worse.

I remember in the mid 60's we had some neighbours who came out from Africa, we couldn't prise them off the TV, they had never seen one, not sure when it happened there, I can't recall where they came from but it would have been Kenya or Rhodesia where whites were becoming somewhat unpopular.
