Kubota B7800
I am considering the purchase of an auger for my kubota b7800. I have approximately 24 pto horsepower. What brands do you have experience with & what results have you had - both good & bad? I would appreciate any feedback. I don't plan on going into business with this machine, but I will use it enough that it will pay for itself (unless I cross the $1K threshold) versus renting one. I have a project ahead of me to fence in one part of my orchard 150' X 150' (**** deer) & I don't want to dig by hand. Again, any thoughts would be appreciated.

From what I've seen, most of them are pretty much the same in the gear boxes. The big difference seems to be in the cutting edge of the augers themselves. A good bit will have removable teeth and tip. Lowe, Pengo and a few others are really nice.

I saw one at Tractor Supply that was pretty reasonable with removable teeth and tip that I would have bought if I already didn't have one.

Mine is a Linebach Line that I rebuilt the auger. I put a Pengo carbide tip on it and four Lowe carbide cutter teeth on it.

With a good cutting edge, you don't need extra weight or preasure to dig through clay and loam. Sand doesn't realy matter, but rock is a whole different story.

Good luck,
Eddie
