- John Deere 160 (1988), Arctic Cat 400 ATV (2006), Kubota BX23S (2018), Jacobsen Super Chief 1450 (1969), Cub Cadet RZT S50 zero turn mower (2012)
my ATV is an Arctic Cat 400 cc 4x4 automatic utility workhorse with 1100 lbs towing capacity and good ground clearance, fairly heavy (good) has a 2 inch square hitch receiver, so same tow hitch as my truck. i bought it for use on the farm. the olive green colour does not get noticed on the property, and the dealer is local to my community.
- i did not need it for speed, racing, etc., and i preferred that it was not bright and flashy
- it was my first piece of farm equipment, top speed at 90 kms / hr (when am i going to need to go faster than that ?), and cost about 1/3 the price of a suitable tractor.
My cousin's Yamaha Grizzly 660 cc 4c4 automatic utility could go quicker at top speed, perhaps 10 -15 kms / hr faster (105 kms), had lower ground clearance, it was not set up to tow more than about 700 lbs, and although in a race ... his machine and experience was the clear winner ... he had to go around things on the trails (rocks, fallen trees etc) that I could climb over.
great machines, different uses and purposes.
