I did about five stages of sanding. Then I shot it with a flexible clear coat similar to whats used on auto bumpers. I'm going to do the second one the same way except no bullet holes in the back. :)

What would it look like without the clear coat?

It would have a semi dull finish. My next one I'm going to buy some two or three stage polishing compounds to see if I can duplicate the shine. I saw one for sale in Kentucky that had been painted. All that would have to be stripped down to plastic. Both of mine where badly weathered. I tried some rubbing compound on the second to see if it would cut thru to good plastic but it still left dirt in the plastic.

The exact procedure on the first was actually an experiment in multiple ways I've either watched U-tube or read about. I tried the razor blade method where one pulls the blade over the plastic and shaves off the porous surface. Taking too long. Then came sanding. I started with too coarse a paper and cut grooves into the plastic. Well that took twice as long to repair. After more sanding to get the surface smooth. I then took another U-tube suggestion and got out my cheapo Harbour Freight heat gun. I slowly swirled it over the sanded area and the magic started. The surface turned smooth as the original but not quite a glossy. Thus my decision to wet sand it with 2000 and shoot automotive clear over it.

I think if I use some good quality muliti-stage compounds I could probably duplicate a clearcoat finish. We'll see. It's averaged around 35 degrees in the day here so no painting on the implements and it's driving me nuts. I've recreated all the decals on the FM-48 and itching to get it back together. I bought a cheap vinyl /plotter/cutter on ebay and it does exactly what I want for the solid color decals. The instructional decals will be printed and laminated with UV clear. -kid

Here is our 2007 Polaris Ranger XP 700 EFI 4x4. Other than a few flat tires, it has been really low maintenance. It has great suspension and can haul a good load or pull the 6' x 12' trailer that its sitting on in last picture. Have even pulled an 8 1/2' chain harrow in some place that tree limbs were too low to get tractor into.

How do you like your Mule? How long have you had it?

It looks like there are some differences in our Mules. You have a rear bumper, and maybe visors & mirrors? Hard to tell. Any customizations?

PS: How do you guys get the pics to appear full-size, instead of thumbnails?

We really like the Mule - Built strong and still a good performer on the trails. Little big for the deep woods but have been VERY surprised at the place I am able to take it.
Had it for a little over a year and it does have some mods. - it was a long winter and I got bored.....

Anyone know what this is? (Hint: the grandfather of most of those already shown here.) 4WD, 4W-Steer. Amphibious
The beat up one is mine. The nice one belonged to a friend of mine until he sold it.

The backup camera is pretty simple. I hard wired it to a switched circuit so I can kick it on anytime I want but you can easily wire it to the backup beeper circuit if you want. I like it always able to be turned on when the key is on because I also use it as a rear view mirror when on the road.
Think I have about $50 in it. I built a little steel mount for the rear and just bolted it in place without drill any holes.
I attached a few photos for your reference.
