Quick Hitches Attatchments sitting on the ground

I am going to get a car port when the snow melts. My grapple and rotary cutter are sitting on the ground in snow. Would love to hear what everyone does. Do I need to get them off the ground?

Ideally they would be supported by pieces of timber on a concrete floor, covered by a roof.

However, mine are out in the weather at the moment as well, although I do have pieces of timber under them to keep them off the ground.

Mine sit on the concrete floor of my shop, except the 6' brush cutter, which sits outside on brick supports. I do plan to carve a space out in the shop to drop the cutter without having to back and turn to get everything sideways, then drop it.

Best storage would be a climate controlled environment with low humidity. I don't have that yet and everything is outside in the weather, it hasn't fallen apart yet. I think the best answer is do what you can to protect your investment. I am trying to get the funds together to build a large parking shed. I do put my tiller and cutters on blocks during the winter months.

I also have my cutter up on two logs. Besides keeping it off the ground, it also makes it easier to position when you are attaching and removing.

Get some wooden shipping pallets and park the attachments on the pallet. This at least keeps them off the ground, and if you get a set of forks for the FEL you can move them easily if you need to. Lot's of businesses will give you some pallets, if you just ask.

Agree with the others. Off the ground (or on gravel) and tarped.

My Bota is inside, but had to remove the bucket, it is on the lumber outside. My 5ft tiller is on the back of it, bumping my knee every time I pass. I am going to put a flexible flag stick on it, for preventive aid.

Resting on some wood is my vote too. Wipe down with an oily rag and tarp will help hold off the rust.

I was thinking about makeing a two level rack out of 6x6's. Set some vertical posts with the PHD and bolt some horizontals to them. Then I thought it's probably a good way to get killed, so they're on the ground again with blocks under them.
