Looks like a blast...

Did that ONE time with mine just playing around my property line...Ill never do it again...Imagine if you can how many places other than the obvious track system that muck and mud oozes into belly pans/torsion beams/hydraulic pumps and engine compartment...Nearly dries as hard as rock and took 2 days of serious cleaning...

But it was fun:rolleyes:

Been there done that. Some weren't so bad, others I try to forget. And it takes a month of Sundays to clean them!

I'm sure that the extra 5" of ground clearance has would keep some of that junk out but i know what you mean. One of the neat things about the ASV machines is the drop down belly pans. The ASV PT100 forestry package even has the belly pan hinged so its easier to clean the engine compartment.

Can somebody tell me what the current pricing is on MP1 asv sr 80. They seem to the same machine as new PT 80 but less expensive. JMFOX what did you pay a few years ago...?

/ ASV SR80 video WOW! #8
At the time I purchased they were around $45k and the mp1s were at a premium of $8k more for the same equipment. The reason was that mp1 accessories were not included. The changes from SR80 to PT80 are graphics and usable torque in high range. I'm sure there are more upgrades, but the transmission change might be worth it.

If the pt 80 was say 2000.00 more than sr 80 would you pay that difference today ?Or SR 80 has been a fine machine and you would still buy that machine at a  discount of 2k. I can't get a straight answer from even ASV on the PT 80 they don't think the PT is any different, but would you get the better 2nd gear torque ?

JMFOX: Here's the whole deal from soup to nuts. The dealer keeps offering me SR 80's because he says that's what the ASV factory is sending him. I have SR-80 in mp1 config offered to me at 48k. I would pay 1200/1500 more for pt 80 if somebody could tell me the transmission is worth the new model up pricing. They ASV and dealers I know want to clear the decks on SR's, which is fine, but I haven't even been able to test ANY PT it's always RC 60 and SR 80 that they have..What gives..

Here are the updates that I have;

Larger Interior on MP1 Cab
New Key Location
Stiffer Door frame
Better Seal on Hood
More Torque in High Speed
Improved Fill Rate on Fuel tank
Steel Fuel Line

Personally, I love the SR-80. It has been a good machine and is very nice. I believe that is all they changed and for the price increase I would look at the SR-80 for sure. PM me for some details.

millpond-
There is no fit, form, or function difference between the SR80 and PT80. They are the same machine with updated paint scheme and decals. The differences mentioned in operator comforts are the difference between the MP1 and MP2 cab options, which were originally introduced on the SR models.

Well it's water under the bridge now as I own the sr80. I believe the only difference which I still would have liked to at least feel was the 2nd gear torque. I was NOT able to go up a slight incline in 2nd gear with sr80. It is a
mute point at this point, but I was disappointed that sr80 will not move up even a slight road rise.

It is a moot point here as well, but I am surprised at the tractive torque available in high gear with the SR80. Often I am loading from a pile and do not realize I'm still in high gear until I try to turn.

JMF: It would be nice to have a indicator light for 2nd gear for sure. On a side
note do you have suspension seat ? I got fixed seat and my kidneys bounced
into my ears.

All SR-80's PT-80's have a 2-speed indicator on the same gauge the glow-plus light is on, it is a turtle and a rabbit, I can't see it real well in the bright sun though. My 06 SR-80 will go up inclines fine in high speed, maybe not full speed or with a heavy load, but alot faster than in low.

I thought all SR80 had the suspension seat.

The MP2 has the suspension seat, self leveling, 20" Tracks, and Hydraulic quick standard, those are options on the MP1. I have the MP2 which was not called MP2 because when I bought it there was no MP1.

So it sounds like I need to put the pressure on for the suspension seat as I
know I paid retail level for my sr80. I did get 20 inch tracks and quick couple
hydro, flashing yellow light and backup alarm, but no suspension..OUCH
