Assembline SDR 17 2" Gasketed Water Pipe

Something I prefer to do anywhere I T off of a main line like that is use a Threaded reducer bushing and come out of that with a 12" Sch 80 nipple to my threaded valve. I have seen the small pipe snap off many times when it is Teed in like you have it, you will then have to cut and splice in the main to fix it. If you use threaded fittings you can unscrew them and repair it allot quicker.

Just my $.02

Everyone has a system. I personally never use a threaded fitting on rigid plastic if I can help it. The biggest majority of leaks I have had to deal with were in either a broken male adapter, the threads are the thinnest point , or a split female adapter, the male thread is like wedge trying to open the fitting until it pops. They are VERY expensive but there is a compression adapter made by McDonald that is made of red brass and can be bought to covert from just about any pipe there is to any other. Made in reducer and straight. They even have a clamping system so the pipe can't pull out like a plastic compression coupling. They are reusable and have NEVER let me down.

Also,

If your trench is still open, throw a couple of runs of conduit in there, It is allot cheaper to do it now than have to trench again later, you never know when they could come in handy.

Over the weekend I replaced the sewer fitting 90s and found a 2" valve so I no longer step down to 1.5". This is pinned the same as the previous version but was more buried when I took the picture.

I also added a second hydrant teed off of the 2" pipe

I connected the meter to my 2" pipe and used 2' lengths of rebar to pin the end of the gasketed 2" pipe.

Watching the meter I timed that 1 gallon would flow out through a 3/4" hose connected to a hydrant 250' from the meter every 3.5 seconds.
