If you've had credit cards for 40 years and paid them off monthly, have a positive net worth, have valuable assets that can be used for collateral if needed, have a history of steady employment, you have no loans, yet have outstanding credit.

Far as credit cards go, I only have one, a Kroger (US Bank) Mastercard and the only reason I do have it is 3 fold. One, they don't outsource their call center to Asia and two, we get a discount on gasoline at their fuel stations and three we get coupons for cents off on food purchases. I don't get excited about diesel because all I purchase is off road anyway so it's no road tax.
