Basically I think there is selfishness in some percentage… maybe low percentage, maybe not so much…..

It is a human trait is it not?

Doesn’t seem to be such a tough thought to comprehend!

I’m sure I will get blasted by teachers spouses or families, but I tend to be a tough skinned old man
I still do not understand what you are trying to say about teacher. Please elaborate further. Teachers are selfish?

I really do not think my statement needs any more details, it seems pretty straight forward to me.

Maybe you need to put some thought forward……

Or are you just looking for an argument?

Clear as mud. You haven't made a cohesive statement about this topic yet. Your first comment on the subject was cryptic and then you "clarified" with an equally vague comment. Not looking for an argument at all, just looking to gauge the level of ignorance of your statement. I guess it will always be a mystery.

I think you are looking at my “clear”statement with your eyes closed. Or is it your closed mindedness?

I stated SOME, when you posed your question you typed “teachers are selfish”? Are you trying to get me to say ALL teachers are selfish? Because I clearly said SOME!

Tell me, what are you trying to do, get me to step in it or to “prove” I am a teacher hater?

I suppose you would argue that there are no problems with the percentage of children molesters in the teaching profession too?

Once again, it may be a low percentage, but would you argue it’s not even an issue?

Dude…. You have a failing argument, go bury your head in the sand!

What is the point you are trying to make?

There are a small percentage of selfish people in every profession, every walk of life.

There are a small percentage of sick people in every profession, every walk of life.

Just not sure what the actual point you are trying to make is.

Exactly dude! Now you have opened your mind to reality!

Congratulations I knew if you used have a brain cell you could do it!

I suppose you have never just commented on a thread…,

It all boils down to you were looking for an argument and now you are exposed!

No, I was looking for the point in your post. Still haven't found one. But now I am just trolling so I will stop, have a nice day.

Well I will respect that you finally admit you were trolling.

Have a nice day!

I have never been to NYC, and have no desire to ever go
Kind of like here, Lots of folks around here have never been to Detroit and have no desire to go. Amy and I are the exception. Detroit does deserve the bad wrap it got but it's not that way today. Granted, there are some places in metro Detroit I would never set foot in (without being armed) but overall, Detroit has experienced a rebirth. Every urban area has it's 'hoods' and you just need to know where they are and avoid them. The best beaneries in Michigan are in Greektown and Germantown in downtown Detroit as well as sports venues and casino's (if you like to gamble), I don't.

Fords has invested substantially in the Corktown area and I'm sure that they would have not done that if there was any doubt about the rebirth of Detroit.

Looking forward to visiting the totally rebuilt Central Train Station. Fords spared no expense in restoring it to it's Greek Revival status. Main floor is shops and eateries and the upper floors are remodeled into hotel suites while part of the building will house Fords EV research wing.

I’ll never forget 40 years ago I was traveling to Tobermory in Ontario for a dive vacation and drove through downtown Detroit, 75 was under construction and they forced us off of the highway, and where we got off was a neighborhood where I had never seen so many Harleys in my entire life parked alongside the streets. It could’ve been a mini Sturgis.
The neighborhood was less than exemplary, and I thought what a Neighborhood for them to force travelers off of and through

I agree with you.
lilranch2001 states earlier:
I think with a pretty good number of teachers, their biggest concern rather than the kids is envy….

Then tries to elaborate but confuses his point even more.

I guess you just do not have the intellect to understand simple English….

Maybe you need to find a GOOD instructor to teach you our language!

I often have a hard time expressing the right words to ask a question, so examples seem best.

A couple of years ago we had a tree fall across the road in front of my house. The township road superintendent had his pickup with a chainsaw and he had a lot of it cleaned up but a lot of little stuff was left in the road. I got on my tractor and cleaned the road off with the end loader, took 15 minutes top. Another time a tree fell across the road a little further away. I grabbed my chainsaw and tractor and had it shoved out of the way in a few minutes, I didn’t even think it was worth the trouble to call anyone.

So why are people not doing this kind of thing? A couple of examples. We had some pretty heavy rain and I noticed inlets in town were plugged up with leaves. People can’t go out in front of their house and clean them off? Another case, a house a couple of miles away has a lot of trees in front of his house, several are dying and will fall on the road at some time. He thinks the road superintendent should cut them down, the road superintendent thinks the home owner should take care of it. I think the road superintendent is correct, they are behind the ditch.

Are people lazy, just don’t notice things, don’t care, afraid if they do something wrong they will be sued? What’s the deal?
There was a local case where a woman was parked with her car hood open. A man stopped to offer assistance and two men jumped out and beat him with a crowbar, robbing him and almost killing him. I don't know if they caught the perpetrators or not. Situations like that have stopped me from offering help as much as I once did.

He can't do it because he is inherently incoherent.

The point here is, you cannot just rely on those call 1 866 before you dig #s.
866 is a toll-free number.

811 is the number to call for free utility locates before digging.

…mostly female flags down a passerby waving arms from a car…
I was in that exact situation about 12 years ago… luckily it was legit. 8:00 o’clock Saturday night at the start of a major snowstorm. I was ar midpoint between 2 towns, 2 1/2 miles to the nearest house one way and 3 miles in the other direction. I had met one vehicle in 10 miles.
Suddenly 2 women appeared in the road wrapped in blankets. WTF? It was on a bad curve with poor visibility from the snow but I pulled over, intentionally far enough away to make them walk to me while I watched and assessed the situation. They said they were on their way to a party, had gone up a nearby road and gotten stuck. That’s when it really got dicey… I agreed to drive up to see if I could help. They had driven a Ford Escort about 1/2 mile up an unplowed road and couldn’t make it up a hill. All that I had to do was straighten the wheel and backed it out. I then got them headed in the right direction; they were about 50 miles from where they thought they were.

I later found out that they were “Dancers”… and were the entertainment for the party they were going to.
