Applied For Medicare

That has been eliminated by law. Those on it can stay on it (for now), but no one can sign up for it.
Is that true? The 2021 "Medicare and You" book still shows F in the table. The only difference between F and G is that F pays 100% of the Part B deductible and G does not. Of course, the Part B deductible is only about $200 so the difference between F and G is almost nothing.

It’s my understanding it ended on January 1, 2021.

Ok. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I applied for Medicare online.

I got an email saying the application was received and would be processed.

I have not heard a peep since then. Anyone know if 2 weeks plus is normal or if something has gone wrong? To me, it seems like a long time given the application is one page and would take like 3 minutes to verify.

Thanks.

My wife applied last year. Took over a month. That’s all she remembers. They want you to apply 3 months before it goes into effect. Her Medicare advantage program only took a week to get rolling.

Thanks. That is helpful. I applied exactly 3 months before I turn 65.

I know what I want to get but I need the magic Medicare card to enroll.

Yea. Exactly 24 days after submitting my application, I was approved for Medicare. Got my letter in the mail today.

I know more guys than I can count who have gotten at least one new knee. No women.

Thank goodness all my parts are still working!

Sports in HS and College, plus 40 years of construction = 0 cartilage and bone on bone knees. But... it has been a life well lived with few regrets.
