We can't even think about getting into the fields to start any spring tillage much less any haylage the grasses are starting to grow decently.
Still mud season this spring.

Took this picture 20 minutes ago. Coming along nicely but it'll be July before I cut. I'm debating on what to do with the old grain shed. It's cool an all but as you can see the roof is in bad shape.

Those old wooden grain cribs are solid structures. Looking at that pic it looks like 2x's laid flat for strength so as not to bow or blow out the wall. Possibility a good amount of usable lumber if salvaged unless the bad roof has caused to much rot.

Looking at that picture the field behind it has a few rocks to be picked up before a haybine goes thru :)

Well finally got a bit of hay put down, most of the fields are still to wet and soft,
mowing yesterday will be doing silage bales (round) today. Several small fields done.

still no corn planted, these fields will get sprayed and then corn planted, no-till.

Very nice LouNY,

While my fields are all green, it'll be July before cutting. Still in the 40's at night and not all that warm during the day.:confused3:

We picked rocks for days then finally just smashed the rest down with a land roller. I'm 80% confident I will not hit anything when cutting.:laughing:

The weather here has been strange all spring, very wet.
We should have all of our new seedings drilled in and haven't done any yet,
we have haven't gotten a single kernel of corn plated, the big operations are just getting started and we all should be finishing up :(
We are just starting to see 70's and nights are still 40-50's.

Very wet here too, in fact I have standing water in the field now. The storm track is just coming straight off the Pacific right into Utah/Idaho. When it finally dries out it'll most likely be a bad fire year with all the growth that will be going on it the mountains. All we can do is hope for the best.:thumbsup:

My farmer/neighbor is still planting (or trying to) and he too says he should be done.

@LouNY-

Nice photos. Will you need to rake the field in your photos or do you simply come by with the baler next for 2 trips total: one to cut, 1 to bale? Assuming you're wrapping those bales. If so how long do you let it dry and what moisture content do you bale at?
