I have some big rounds I have to deal with from time to time, and I'm getting tired of fighting them into position on my vertical splitter. I know they make upside down splitters for skid steers. I have a third function valve and remotes on my FEL for my grapple already. Can I use these and run an upside down splitter from them? My tractor is a Kubota L3940. Not sure what the hydraulic flow or pressure is off the top of my head.

Around 10gpm. It'll be slow especially if it's a 5" cylinder. Some 3rd function valves are not made for continuous use and the manufacturer warns they'll overheat and seize.

You better get used to watching oil based paint dry in the winter time.

How about fabbing up a self contained splitter where you start itエs motor then plumb hydraulic lines to control the splitters lever?

It would be more practical to use a pto pump unless you already have a pump and motor, but you’re on the right track.

I already have a splitter and a buddy who痴 an excellent welder. He actually has a splitter for his skid steer. I値l run my idea past him.

I don't know how well it would work on a tractor but, this linked video has me wanting a sideways splitter.
I'm always perplexed when people using a splitter drop their splits onto the ground rather than some type of conveyance like a truck bed or wheelbarrow. It seems like it would save a step.

These splitters seem nice for breaking down big pieces and not very practical for splitting regular firewood.
