Anyone own their own propane tank?

I would try what skipro3 said first, failing that, a 500 gallon tank weighs ~1000# and propane is 4.24#/gal so all together you are talking ~3100# (not including the trailer). I would suggest looking for a used seal coat trailer, they are normally 12-14' long and have 2 3500# axles. here is an example I ran across: Double Axle Trailer

however the company you get propane from may not like the idea of filling a mobile tank. you might need to get a quick disconnect and a rubber hose to hook up with.

schmism I ran across a page you might be interested in here: Propane tank refilling (John De Armond)

Maybe another fuel supplier than the one who won't cross your bridge would be an option?

Yes it is an option but a friend is employed by this fuel supplier and therefore I get the "friends and family" discount...Well, I did. They broke the contract today because I did not get the bridge certified by a structural engineer within 30 days of the notice. So I guess a different supplier is a an option now.

Start calling other suppliers, mention the price quoted by your current supplier and see if they will beat that price. No need to mention you get the "special" pricing or that they won't deliver due to the bridge. It might work.
